To make a wooden bunny from scrap wood, you will need:

  • a scrap wooden board,
  • a wood saw,
  • a power drill and a wood milling drill bit,
  • sandpaper,
  • a cloth for wiping dirt or a paintbrush,
  • pencil,
  • paper,
  • scissors,
  • hot glue gun and a glue stick,
  • a ribbon,
  • Belinka Oil Food Contact oil, Interier lak wood varnish for a natural finish, or Belinka Interier wood stain.

Method of making an Easter bunny from scrap wood:

First examine the board, which should be dry and free of any pests. Sand the wood with coarse and then fine sandpaper to give it a smooth surface. Before you do anything else, wipe it clean.

Draw a bunny on a piece of paper and cut it out. Place the cut-out on top of the wood and trace it. Make sure the bunny matches the size of your wooden board.

When cutting and sanding the wood, stay safe by wearing protective goggles and a dust mask. Cut out the traced shape with a wood saw. Take your time and follow the outline as precisely as possible. Smoothen the bunny’s edges with sandpaper to remove any rough particles of wood.

Now it’s time to make a hole for the Easter egg. Mark the hole and cut it out with a milling drill bit, then sand it until the wood feels smooth.

If you prefer a natural finish, oil the bunny with Belinka Oil Food Contact, which provides colourless impregnation and is designed for the protection of wooden surfaces in contact with food. Made from natural ingredients, the oil is safe for both human health and the environment. For a glossy finish, you can instead choose the Interier lak wood varnish. It is suitable for all types of wood and also resistant to mild cleaning agents and household stains.

If you prefer a more colourful Easter table, protect the bunny with water-based Belinka Interier wood stain, which is designed for the protection of wood in interiors. The wood stain, which protects and enhances wood, is an excellent choice for protecting low-maintenance furniture and shelves. It is available in nine standard hues, as well as 76 colour tones on the Belinka MIX colour chart.

Once you have protected the wooden surface, wait for the bunny to dry thoroughly. If you like, you can now move on to the next step – decorating the bunny from scrap wood. Attach a ribbon with a hot glue gun and draw in any details such as eyes or whiskers. Your Easter bunny is finished!
